Make Amazing Happen Blog Hop

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Anything Goes. I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Jen's blog you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

This card may look familiar to those of you from my Facebook page, A Yooper's Stampin Jourmey. I was color inspired by a fellow FSJ coach for the original card that I have shown below with the fun summery colors, then reinspired to change up the colors and add some Sparkle Silk to make super cute flower swirl Christmas cards.

The original card:

Dude Blog Hop

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Dude. I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Kim's blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

Isn't this the type of card design we are ALWAYS looking for? The most common request on boards is to see everyone's dude cards. I don't know why we have such a hard time coming up with something, but feminine cards are just easier to design, I guess :) When you do a guys card you have to push past the frilly design and the rhinestones and glitter and get down to the nitty gritty in your craft corner and get creative. Thankfully, there are many, many stamp designs out there now to design a card for the dude in your life, and if you need that something extra, splash some Journey Silks on that baby!! It's like throwing some dirt on it, only so much better.

The score lines for this 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card is 2 1/8" and 4 1/4".
Patterned paper is cut to 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" and 4" x 5 1/4".
Journey Circles Die Set is used to cut the circles.

I designed the front of the card first and then when I had the placement of the front large circle in place I put adhesive on the inside of the card circle back, then lined it up under front, then closed up the card so that the inside circle lined up directly under the front circle. Clear as mud? No? Throw some silks on it ;)

Thank you for stopping by today, be sure to head to Ruth's blog next.

Rub some dirt in it, it'll be alright...lol

Faith Journey

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Faith Journey. I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Kim’s blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

Bible Journaling. I am in love. I think this is a fantastic way to get into your Bible.

These are the steps I follow:
1. Pray first that God would open your eyes and ears and heart to the words you will be reading.
2. Read the passage you have chosen, then re-read and re-read again  :)
3. Choose the specific verse or passage you'd like to highlight with an image or with writing.
4. Stamp, color, draw, write away.

Fun Stampers Journey has quite a few Bible specific stamp sets plus so many others that will find their way into your Bible as you dig in. I used one of the new sets in the big Fun Stampers Journey Inspiration Catalog called God is Light plus the Autumn Leaves set from the nature section. By picking up the God is Light set, you've already got the jumping off point to at least 5 different pages you can spend time in.

Journey Gesso (which is white) was brushed on the journaling column of the page first so that any inks that I use won't bleed through to the back side. Because I'm not patient, I used a heat gun to carefully dry the page. Then I mixed the Beach Breeze, Whip Cream and Journey Blender Solution and brushed it around the "sky" area using a blending brush. Sweet Pear, Whip Cream and Journey Blender was mixed and used for the "grassy" area. Again, the heat tool was used to dry up the ink....oh, the lack of patience here ;) So the words wouldn't get covered up too much, I used matching pan pastels and wiped off any excess with paper towel instead of the ink I used on the side column.

The lettering was done by hand using a Black Copic marker - the brush end. This takes lots of practice and I am really just starting so only do a little. Heavy handed on the downstroke of a letter, light handed on the upstroke is the way these are supposed to take their shape. Always something new to learn...love it! The rest of the lettering was done using a Pitt Black Brush Pen. The oak leaves (info on why I used this is found in this 24th chapter of Joshua) were then stamped around using a Green Olive Ink Pad.

IMPORTANT!!!! Always allow your page to completely dry before closing your Bible. You don't want your pages to stick together and tear the pages and ruin your artwork.

Give it a try and enjoy your own Faith Journey!!

Thank you for stopping by today, be sure to head to Betsye’s blog next.

As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord.

Beautiful Wings Journey Blog Hop

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Beautiful Wings. I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Ruth Cooper's blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

I Tried out some new supplies for this blog hop. The Beautiful Wings stamp set really is beautiful and fairly easy to line up without a stamp positioner. I chose to be my own kind of beautiful and go the neon route, so I used Electric Lime and Orange Rave ink on the butterfly. Turbo Teal splashes (also a new product to me) was used for the background with a chevron stencil. I sprayed it out and was very pleased to see that it has a little shimmer to it. A little Electric Lime Silk splatter and orange drops add just the right finish.

Thank you for stopping by today, be sure to head to Lisa Kmiec’s blog next.

Outdoor Fun FSJ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Outdoor Fun!. I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Carol’s blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!"

Please don’t forget to click the Next button at the bottom to continue on the hop with Heather’s blog.

Outdoor fun to me is summer time camping, and though I never get to do it as often as I'd like, I can stamp them all year round. This card is made using Journey Pan Pastels with some masking. I used them for the background and also for coloring the tent in the center. Talk about a versatile coloring tool. The mask was made using a post-it (3M) die cut with one of the Heart-Felt Dies. I hope you enjoy my Outdoor Fun card and the rest of the bloggers' Outdoor Fun. You can find all the supplies I used in the list below.

Spring's coming!!

Welcome to the March Journey Blog Hop!  I'm so happy you're hoppin' along!  If you arrived here from Stamping Journey With Jenny, you're on the right track.  If not, that's ok too!  Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!  If you need to start from the beginning, the list can be found here at Kerry's Getting Inky blog.

This one is a two-fer. I die cut the flowers for the first card from a scrap piece of Pineapple Smoothie cardstock, but made sure to lay them out on the scrap piece so that they had a little spacing in between them and then used the negative for the second card. I backed the negative of the die cut with a piece of polka dot background paper and then Sweet Berry cardstock. All the background papers are from the Spring Parade paper pack only available until 3/31/16 in the FSJ Spring Mini.

Close ups of the cards to kind of see the shading on the flower and Journey glaze on the dots.
